In December 2015, the local government in Fukushima published a guidebook to introduce the prefecture’s top sports facilities in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics which have been pledged to become an Olympics for recovery.
These guidebooks (unavailable through public distribution) have been distributed primarily to sports organisations with the aim of encouraging athletes both at home and abroad to hold training camps in Fukushima, and to raise awareness of Fukushima’s sports facilities and the supporting atmosphere for the sports scene that exists there.
Fukushima prefecture also launched an official training camp website on April 1 to promote the prefecture’s sports facilities worldwide.
